THURSDAY - AUGUST 14TH

Saturday Hike @ Oak Ridge Trail @ 830AM - 1030AM
Led by an experienced volunteer hiker, this week’s hike is the Oak Ridge Trail. This hike is rated as moderate, is about 2.3 miles and has an elevation climb of approximately 300′.

52nd Annual Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb @ Mt. Washington @ 830AM
Riders will race to the summit of Mt. Washington in what's been called, "the toughest hillclimb in the US, if not the world".

42nd Annual Granite Man Triathlon @ Carry Beach @ 9AM - 12PM
The triathlon will begin and finish at Carry Beach which is located on Forest Road in Wolfeboro. The annual race regularly draws upwards of 350 triathletes from throughout New England and as far away as France.

Sauerkraut and Veggie Fermentation @ Prescott Farm @ 10AM - 1PM
How can you preserve your garden’s abundance and give a boost to your gut health? Try fermentation! Sample and learn how to make delicious fermented veggies that will delight your taste buds and add variety to your autumn table. Participants will go home with a jar of sauerkraut and a jar of pickles, ready to finish fermenting at home.

Great for beginners and experienced felters as well.

Food Safety Workshop: Pickles, Chutneys & Relishes @ Remick Museum @ 1030AM - 1PM
You can pickle it! As gardens explode with fresh produce, we’ll take a look at food-safe, shelf-stable recipes for pickles, chutneys and relishes. This hands-on workshop is limited to six participants. We will be in the kitchen working with in-season ingredients such as cucumbers, tomatoes and the ubiquitous zucchini.

Tuftonboro’s Historic Ferry Still Runs – The Tuftonboro Ferry, operating since 1877, connects the east and west shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. It’s the only remaining wooden cable ferry in New Hampshire and offers scenic views on every crossing.
