THURSDAY - AUGUST 21ST

Saturday Hike @ Mount Roberts First Viewpoint @ 8AM - 10AM
Led by an experienced volunteer hiker, this week’s hike is the Mount Roberts First View Point. This is a moderate level hike that is about 2.4 miles and has an elevation climb of approximately 400′.

Ring With a Bezel Set Stone with Joy Raskin @ Meredith Fine Craft Gallery @ 1030AM - 430PM
In this one day workshop, students will make a silver ring band out of wire or sheet metal, and then they will make a bezel to set a cabochon stone. The bezel will then be soldered to the ring, a cabochon stone will be set, and the finished ring will be polished and ready for you to wear and enjoy. Materials are not required, but students can bring in a favorite stone or any silver they may have.

Water Ski Show @ Alton Bay @ 3PM
This southern tip of Lake Winnipesaukee has a history of hosting — and hoisting — show skiers. From 1954 through the mid-’70s, its namesake water ski club delighted Lakes Regioners. Looking to rekindle a dormant pastime, Alton Bay’s Water Bandstand Committee approached Maine Attraction in 2019. The show is open to the public and lasts about 45 minutes, featuring roughly 25 skiers from Maine Attraction.

😂 FUN FACT ABOUT THE LAKE 🚣

Squam Lake, just a short distance from Center Harbor, served as the filming location for the 1981 movie On Golden Pond, starring Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda. While not directly on Lake Winnipesaukee, it remains a major part of the region’s charm.
