THURSDAY - APRIL 24TH

Think Like a Fish: Seasonal Fish Behavior @ Squam Lakes Association @ 830AM - 11AM
Come join us at the Squam Lakes Association on April 26, from 8:30 – 11am, for a roughly 2-mile kayak trip around Piper’s Cove and learn about how the seasons affect fish behavior. Participants will learn when and where to find fish for their angling or viewing pleasure.

Winter Hikes @ Castle in the Clouds @ 9AM
Join us on this guided winter hike of the Settlement Loop and learn about the history of the property and the nature you will encounter along the way. This is a moderate hike of about 1.5 miles and has an elevation climb of approximately 200 ft. Be prepared with appropriate clothing layers for winter weather conditions.

Homesteading: Start Your Indoor Seeds @ Maker’s Mill @ 930AM - 1130AM
In this workshop we will start a tray of seeds for indoor growth to prepare for garden planting. We will go over how to use the tiered frames for indoor growth, transfer to a greenhouse, and harden off for outdoor planting.

Success with Transplanting Vegetables @ Moulton Farm @ 10AM
“Even the healthiest vegetable seedling, whether you’ve grown it yourself or gotten it from a quality garden center like ours, will struggle or fail if you’re not careful,” explains John Moulton. “What you do and don’t do is different depending on the vegetables you are trying to grow. We’ll cover this in the workshop.”

Intro to Leatherwork: Saddle Stitching Basics @ Maker’s Mill @ 10AM - 12PM
In this class you’ll learn how to use 2 needles to do a basic saddle stitch and sew a leather cover for a 3" x 5" mini notebook. With this new skill you can go on to make other projects such as covering a treasured album in leather and beautiful hand stitching.

Earth Week Journal Hike @ Squam Lakes Association @ 1030AM - 1230PM
Come join the SLA at on Earth Week celebration hike at Whitten Woods at 10:30am – 12:30pm time on April 27th, LRCC member Sydney Paradise will lead this peaceful hike. This will be a great way to continue celebrating Earth Day and reflect on what services the Earth provides us. The hike is a gradual 2.0 mile round trip to the summit of South Peak.

On the last weekend of every month, we’ll dig deep into our wine cellar to bring a special wine from our library collection to the tasting room for sampling and sale. This wine will be available for tasting only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of that weekend, but will remain available for purchase until the next release the following month.
